  URL (uniform resource locator)   Internet (World Wide Web) "address" of a resource / page / web site.

  Web page   A web document -- the page content that displays on the screen, in the browser's window.

t Web site t Set of connected (linked) web pages that, as a whole, serve a specific set of purposes. t

t Link/s t Reference / jump point to a different web site or another page on a site -- left-click on it to jump to that page (it will be underlined or printed in another color). t

  Homepage   Opening or welcoming page of a web site. Usually includes some introduction and indexing, as well as the links to the rest of the site (i.e. the other pages).

t HTML (hypertext markup language) t All web pages are coded in this markup language so that Web browsers know how to display them. t

t Web browser t Software that "fetches" pages from Web sites anywhere in the world and that then displays the pages on your PC. Popular browsers are Netscape Navigator and Internet Explorer. t
