Date of publication

  • Use the date of the most recent edition.
  • This will usually be stated on the imprint page (back of the title page).
  • Remember that a reprint or impression does not constitute a new edition.
  • If you are unable to find any indication of date (unlikely these days), use the abbreviation s.a. (sine anno).
  • In the Harvard style the date follows the name of the author and end with a full stop.

    Truter, Mavis. 1994.
