The site is navigated by using the blue pane to the left. The page
that is currently displayed will be indicated in red. For students
that want to work systematically, the next page to open would be listed
directly below the current page link that is displayed in red. Pages
that have been visited will show as grey links.
-
The course was developed for Microsoft
Internet Explorer 4 and above. It
is best viewed in Microsoft Internet Explorer 8.
Other browsers may not present the page layouts correctly. It was
also developed for 14 inch screens, which are most commonly used at
present.
-
Browser settings: The text size and layout of the course will differ
depending on the browser settings. To set the text size to your specifications
in Internet Explorer click "view", "text size", choose
"smaller". To set the text size in Netscape, click "view"
and "increase font" or "decrease font". This will ensure
that the text in the left blue panel will show correctly.
-
It was not designed for printing, but for online use.
-
It contains no scripting apart from browser detection, but it does
contain Java applets. In order to maximise download speed, sparing
use has been made of graphics at a quality that is just sufficient
for 800 x 600 screen resolutions.
-
In order to avoid problems of relative file addressing on the different
host servers, all the files necessary to run all of the site are included
in one root folder.
-
The index file for the site is called index.html.
-
To install the entire site, all of the files on the CD, except the readme.txt, can simply be copied to a folder name of your choice.
